The world name is 'Tulucia'. Tulucia has vast environments, ranging polar regions, lush forest and farmlands, hidden jungles, and deserts. The most prevalent race in Tulucia is human. Jealous, many centuries ago the humans led revolt against the immortal elves. In the rage to gain the secret of the elves immortality, large armies of humans forced the elves into the jungles and heavy forested areas of Tulucia. Now there are only two known elven cities in Tulucia; with many small villages and migrating elven tribes. The dwarves fled for their lives back to their homes deep in the mountains. The dwarves believed that the humans would attack them next, as in a human's view in comparison to their own life cycle; dwarves are almost immortal. After eradicating much of the elven population, the humans turned to magic and new gods in hopes of increasing their life expectancy.
In the present Tulucia the old ways of the more gentle and balanced gods are almost unheard of, or at least not spoken of. There are few villages and cities that have groups of the old factions still fighting to retain the old ways. The main religion and gods of humans are self serving, individualistic, and focused on acquiring power and wealth. Those who 'have not in their present life' are believed to have angered the gods in a past life. Human society in Tulucia has become very cut throat and self serving.
Of the newer religion there are two main factions. Both in rage over a new knowledge of a relic hidden by the elves that is said to be able to give humanity the 'gift' of immortality. This relic is heavily guarded by magic and intelligent design. None who have gone through the Labyrinth of the relic have survived. The basic knowledge of the relic has driven the two factions to arms. While the people of the old ways cling to hope with desperate sacrifices to appease the old gods.. in hopes heroes will be born to fight for their cause.. and bring the old ways back.
